Previous Prerequisites

To claim the stamp, users needed:

  • An active BrightID account (created at brightid.org )
  • A completed “meets” verification on BrightID, which required the user to show themselves clearly on video, listen carefully, and respond
  • The BrightID mobile application installed

Previous Verification Steps

  1. Access the Passport dashboard at app.passport.xyz  using Sign-in with Ethereum.
  2. Locate and select the BrightID stamp card’s Connect button.
  3. Click the Verify option.
  4. Use your BrightID mobile app to scan the displayed QR code.
  5. Authorize Passport’s connection to your BrightID account.
  6. Return to the browser window to confirm verification status had changed to Verified.

Legacy Common Issues

  • Missing Verifications Error — users had to obtain a BrightID verification before connecting to Passport.
  • Score Not Adding — using multiple wallet addresses with the same BrightID account prevented score accumulation on subsequent wallets. Users had to wait for the 90-day expiration before re-verifying with a different wallet.
