Passport Embed Troubleshooting

Having trouble with Passport Embed on a website? This page covers the most common issues and how to fix them.

Embed not loading

If the Passport Embed widget is not appearing on a website:

1. Clear your browser cache and hard refresh — Press Ctrl+Shift+R (Windows/Linux) or Cmd+Shift+R (Mac)
2. Disable browser extensions — Ad blockers and privacy extensions can block the embed iframe from loading. Try disabling them temporarily
3. Try a different browser — If using Brave or another privacy-focused browser, built-in shields may block the embed. Try Chrome or Firefox
4. Check your internet connection — The embed needs a stable connection to communicate with the Passport backend
5. Check if JavaScript is enabled — The embed requires JavaScript to run

Score not displaying

If the embed loads but your score is not showing:

• Your Stamps may have expired — Visit app.passport.xyz  to check your Stamp status and re-verify any expired ones
• Wait a moment after connecting — It can take a few seconds for the embed to load your score after you connect your wallet
• Recently verified a Stamp? — New verifications can take a few minutes to reflect in the score

Wallet connection issues

If you cannot connect your wallet to the embed:

• Make sure your wallet extension is active — Check that MetaMask or your wallet provider is unlocked and connected
• Try disconnecting and reconnecting — Disconnect your wallet from the site, refresh, and reconnect
• Check the network — Make sure you are on a supported network (Ethereum, Optimism, or the network the integrating site requires)

Score is lower than expected

If your score in the embed is lower than what you see in the Passport App:

• The integrating site may use a Custom Scorer — Some partners adjust Stamp weights for their specific use case. Your score on their site may differ from the default Passport App score. See Custom Dashboards for more information
• Check for expired Stamps — Stamps expire every 90 days. Visit app.passport.xyz  to check and re-verify
• Onchain vs offchain score — If the site reads onchain scores, your onchain score may be outdated. Re-mint your Passport onchain to update it

Embed blocked by browser

Some privacy-focused browsers and extensions block third-party iframes by default:

• Brave: Go to Settings → Shields → set “Block cross-site trackers” to “Allow all” for the specific site
• Firefox with Enhanced Tracking Protection: Click the shield icon in the address bar and disable protection for the site
• uBlock Origin or other ad blockers: Add the integrating site to your allow list

2. Take a screenshot of any error messages
